In some sections, the community walk is as simple as walking through the community from one side of the harbour to the other, and in other areas, there is a longer stretch of walking through the community. For example, Flamber Head Path ends on the North side of Brigus South Harbour and Brigus Head Path starts on the South side of Brigus South Harbour, the community walk here brings you around the Brigus South Harbour to connect the two paths.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There will be occasions when hikers will walk along the roads to get to the next path. Much of the ECT runs through or near to private property, so make sure you aren\u2019t on privately owned land before you dig. Remember, though, that the Trail crosses crown and private land. So just like all hikers, you need to Leave No Trace, and respect private property boundaries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The East Coast Trail does not have its own policy, but we urge drone users to follow <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tc.canada.ca\/en\/aviation\/drone-safety\/learn-rules-you-fly-your-drone\/flying-your-drone-safely-legally\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Transport Canada regulations:<\/span><\/a> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cDrone use in Newfoundland requires adherence to Transport Canada&#8217;s regulations, including obtaining a valid pilot certificate, registering drones over 250g, and respecting flight restrictions. Pilots must stay under 122 meters (400 feet), maintain a safe horizontal distance from people, and avoid emergency operations, airports, and areas like National Parks unless approved. Specific Newfoundland restrictions include a ban on drones near forest fires due to water bomber interference and prohibition in National Parks for recreational use.&#8221;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Along the Trail there are 2 major National Historic Sites, which likely count as a National Park: Signal Hill and Cape Spear.
