JOHN\u2019S, NL \u2013 April 12, 2022 \u2013 The East Coast Trail Association (ECTA) presents the \u201c2022 Trail Raiser Community Hike,\u201d sponsored by ExxonMobil on June 4, 2022, in Portugal Cove-St. Phillips. Supported by media sponsor CBC NL, and adventure sponsor The Outfitters.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s Community Hike is on the East Coast Trail from Topsail Beach to Bauline, plus a hike option in Voisey&#8217;s Brook Park. Participants choose one of the fundraiser\u2019s designated paths to hike and then join us for a celebration afterwards at Brookside Intermediate. We target a fundraising goal of $100,000 help maintain, enhance, and develop the East Coast Trail in 2023. For example, funds raised in 2021 are being used this year to enhance Tinkers Point Path, the southern end of Bear Cove Point Path, and La Manche Village Path. These enhancements will include replacing damaged structures and clearing overgrown areas of the paths.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cTrail Raiser Community Hike\u201d celebrates the East Coast Trail Association and can be completed individually or as a team. This event is open to everyone: individuals, communities and businesses, with the only requirement being a minimum fundraising amount of $50.<\/p>\n<p>Many amazing individual, team, and draw prizes have been secured for the fundraiser. The top three individual and team fundraisers receive prizes. Plus, for every $50 a hiker raises they receive an entry for a draw prize. Hikers can enjoy the beauty of the trails with friends and family as they raise funds to help keep the ECT safe and open for everyone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur goal is to fundraise for the East Coast Trail\u2019s maintenance, development, and enhancement,\u201d said Shane Skinner, ECTA VP of Fundraising &amp; Revenue. \u201cWe hope this event will bring out East Coast Trail enthusiasts young and old and encourage participants to get out and enjoy the breathtaking East Coast Trail.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This event is your opportunity to positively influence the East Coast Trail!
