\n<\/span>EAST COAST TRAIL – Today, the NDP announced a plan to increase support for the East Coast Trail and the tourism it supports.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>The East Coast Trail is a world-class attraction, and a valuable tourism and recreational asset for the province, said NDP Leader Earle McCurdy. That is the reason an NDP government would double the funding it currently receives, to invest in the communities that intersect the trail and the small businesses that rely on the trail.<\/span>

\n<\/span>The NDP will:<\/span>

\n<\/span>Double the funding the East Coast Trail currently receives under a multi-year contract to ensure they receive predictable financing for trail maintenance<\/span>
\n<\/span>Commit to developing trails legislation to protect the trail.<\/span>
\n<\/span>We love this place. Its nooks and crannies. Its majestic beauty, added McCurdy. We need to upkeep this beautiful part of our province and protect it with proper trail legislation and conservation.<\/span>
