One major blocker an 8 inch diameter tree blown over and across the trail was noted on our map. A few storm damaged trees leaning over the trail, were noted as stable or unstable. Wet areas where drainage on the treadway could be addressed were marked
as well as side trails without signage or clarification as to the correct route. Survey pins are noted and narrowing of the path in areas where trail maintenance and brushing would improve the hikers safe passage are marked on the map as well.

A break at Cobbler Brook and then the return for a different view.

The new custodians are offered a path of their own when one is available and meanwhile, may substitute if a report is needed and the regular custodian is unavailable. The program functions well. The work of the custodians is important. It provides information to the ECTA trail crew in their work plan and supports our due diligence on safety for our insurer.

Thanks everyone for your enthusiasm and dedication.

Story and photos by J.
